Every time TSLA hits a new target, this time $900, the next one comes into view and it's just a matter of time until it's hit. That brings $1,000 to the front and 2+ months to achieve. It's a good time to review the text from the Oct 14th PRO Alert: "There is a lot of speculation that a good report will send price to test the $900 all time high. The Fib projection tool says price will cut through $900 like a hot knife through butter to reach our end-of-year price target of $1,000...and then some. If so, new price target becomes $1,400 by March. "The March 18th (2022) $1,200 calls are trading today at $9.50 ($950). At $1,400 those calls are worth $200 ($20,000). "Back to reality, $1,000 would still be decent gain for 2+ months, but earnings can, at least temporarily, humble even the most unwavering bull. Longer term, my target is $1,500 to $2,000 by the end of 2022, no matter what happens on the 20th. The next higher target on the Fib tool (not shown) is $1,850...close enough." The March 18th 2022 $1,200C has risen from $9.50 to a high so far today of $16.90, a rise of about 75% since Oct 14th Alert and up 45% just today. That kind of gain can make up for times where calls don't move, or move down, while the stock rises as implied volatility craters. The 2023 LEAPS are all up about 10-15% today, but the real prize is still 12-18 months down the road. TSLA Mar 18th 2022 $1,200C What to do next? There is no answer that fits everyone's trading account, but generally intermediate term traders should be holding LEAPS (calls with 12+ months to expiration) and short-term traders continue to look for opportunities like this one to enter 1-2 month trades. For anyone in this particular trade, holding here with a 50% trailing stop will worst case net a 35-40% return. Best case is TSLA keeps running up without that stop being hit. Price targets are $1,000 - $1,200 by year end and $1,400 to $1,500 by March 2022 expiration. All of Tesla surprises have been to the upside and only a market meltdown will slow down this juggernaut.
