Next Wednesday, March 1st is Tesla Investor's Day: "We plan to host Tesla's 2023 Investor Day on March 1, 2023. The event will be live streamed from our Gigafactory Texas, with the option for some of our institutional and retail investors to attend in person (details to follow). Our investors will be able to see our most advanced production line as well as discuss long term expansion plans, generation 3 platform, capital allocation and other subjects with our leadership team." There is a lot of speculation as to details, but for trading purposes we want to be on the lookout for any short-term opportunities to go long calls leading up to and maybe holding after the occurrence of this event. With TSLA shares down today, there is no imminent action pending, but either a drop into Fib retracement zone (see short-term chart below) or a run-up over $220 could likely trigger a new trade. I'll post either here to PRO subscribers or in the afternoons to the Premium Service as circumstances dictate. The big picture macro view is dicey, but TSLA is a special situation stock on an island of its own, so the big picture takes a back seat. TSLA - Intermediate Term Trading For the PRO Service I am dialed into the shorter-term time frames for more aggressive entries. Even here, there is nothing compelling at the moment. TSLA - Short-Term Trading (30 Minute) The Big Picture - Yields The big picture is all about yields as inflation and interest rates weigh heavily on whether a new leg down in equites has, or is about, to begin. A pop-up above 4.0% on this 10 Year Note could spell trouble for the markets, above 4.5% and worst case scenarios come front and center. Note: 2-Year notes are above 4.70% today.
