Since yesterday's Special Situation Alert on Dogecoin, price has spurt up from $0.40 to $0.60 and in so doing "broke" Robinhood's Crypto interface: Dogecoin Spikes 50% Intraday, Cripples Robinhood's Crypto Trading The above article states that as Robinhood addressed the issue DOGE dropped back to $0.50. On my own Robinhood App DOGE is trading at $0.55, but there is a message: "We are experiencing issues with crypto trading." This is eerily similar to what Robinhood went through with Game Stop (GME) a few months ago, but also could be a sign of growing pains for crypto as it becomes more mainstream. As the article states, "Doge has now surge above Ripple to become the 4th largest cryptocurrency." Imagine the headlines if DOGE challenges Ethereum or even Bitcoin, in terms of market cap. Mania blow-off top, or the future of trading? Take your pick. Meanwhile, DOGE is still a speculative "Buy," if you can buy it.
