From August 21, 2021: "Last year TSLA and PLTR were running neck and neck for my 2021 Stock of the Year...As things look mid-2021, I can conceive of no circumstances where Tesla is NOT my Stock of The Year for 2022....Do not let this one get away, Buy the Shares, the 2023 calls, and the Vehicle - they are all going up." TSLA: The Shares At the time of that post TSLA was trading at $680, currently at $1,000 (up 47%) after having been as high as $1,243 (+83%). Maybe most prescient of all is the fact that from the day that quoted text was posted, TSLA never traded a penny lower. TSLA: The 2023 Calls Computing the gains of the 2023 calls is more problematic since there was no strike price associated with that August 2021 recommendation. However other TSLA call recommendations in 2021 did set out strike prices, $1,200 being the favorite. In the Premium Service the Mar 2023 $1,200C, bought Jun 23rd @ $93 is trading today at $256 (+175%), but was as high as $404 (+376%). In the PRO Service the Jun 2022 $1,200C bought at $32.50 is now trading at $123.50 (+280%) and was as high as $267 (+720%). TSLA: The Vehicle The price of the Model Y bought in August 2021 was $53,900 (up from $48,900 in April). Those are finally being delivered as 2022 Model Y's and new orders currently list @ $60,990. The delivery date estimated for a Model Y ordered today is September, 2022. If an EV tax credit is passed by Congress, add another 6-12 months to those estimated delivery dates. In The Wings: 1.5 million pre-orders for the Tesla Cybertruck. Expect that line to wrap around the world, twice. TSLA: The Projections Share price continues to successfully test the $1,000 level. That has me believing that it will fall below $900 before the next leg of advance begins. That's just the way the market works. If I am wrong and $1,000 holds, than expect my $2,000 price target by end-of-year 2022 to be achieved early, with $2,500 likely a year from now. TSLA: The Summary Tesla is a generational, maybe multi-generational, phenomenon. World transportation is going electric, from about 2% (current) to 50% by 2030. Tesla dominates, globally and domestically: "For the entire year of 2020, Tesla vehicles accounted for 79% of new electric vehicles registered in the US." TSLA will continue to command market share for the rest of this decade. As far as the company, the products, the share price have come in the past few years, it is still relatively early. The window of opportunity to be a part of Tesla's innovation, growth, prosperity and dominance is still open. For comparison, It took about 25 years for Apple, Amazon and Google's early adopter and investor windows of opportunity to close. Tesla is at best half-way there. Three years from now this post and every other bullish forecast I will have made about TSLA will be in the past, but most importantly, will have come to pass. Expect TSLA to double annually until that very last order on that Cybertruck waiting list gets filled. Then, we reassess. 2022 Stock Of The Year: TSLA
