With shares up over $100 in two trading sessions, TSLA is on a roll. If the move is related to the rumors of the stock being added to the S&P 500, there is more time for price to appreciate as inclusion would happen after the 2nd Qtr 2020 earnings report, due out on July 22nd. Three weeks of an anticipation run could once again set-up a "buy the rumor, sell the news," TSLA trade. If so, the shares are at the very beginning of the "buy the rumor" half of the equation. Below is a link to the most recent TSLA Buy Signal posted on June 15th with Buy Signals triggered in both the Short-Term (PRO Alert) and Intermediate Term models: TSLA: Repeat Intermediate Term Buy The stock is up about 10% since that repeat Buy and the "Aug-Sep-Oct" expirations that were recommended are all up quite nicely. TSLA Calls: June 15th TSLA Calls: June 30th Note that the furtherest out in time and strike is the Jun 2022 $2,000C, last trade $183.00. In other words, it would cost $18,300 for the right to buy 100 shares of TSLA at the price of $2,000/share before Jun 17, 2022. Bullish, anyone? Or you can buy the shares today for about $1,075.00 Summary of TSLA trade management advice, subject to individual capital budgets and tolerance for risk. (In order of importance): (1) Core Position: Shares and/or long term calls that are strictly BUY & HOLD; (2) Add to that one or more trading positions based upon: (a) Intermediate Term Buy Signals (Premium Trading Service); and/or, (b) Short-Term Buy Signals (PRO Service); and/or, (c) Special Situation Buy Signals (Stochastic Buys; Earnings Plays) (3) Overall Tesla Exposure: TSLA remains our "Game Changer," once in a generation stock opportunity. Core position is untouchable. Trading positions should ideally be held to expiration on half, a trailing stop on the other half. Not all accounts can afford that aggressiveness...at first. Try to have at least one trading position on at all times. If anxiety is an issue, forget the calls and buy shares, more than you think you can afford. Enjoy.
