MSTR's earnings are out Jan 26th and TSLA earnings are out Jan 27th. MSTR shows no clear directional trading into earnings, but TSLA has historically ran up into earnings, with one caveat: TSLA has for the past year and one-half run up into most dates, so it's problematic to assume it will run-up into the 27th just because of earnings. For new subscribers, we tend to be very cautious taking new positions in front of earnings, at best suggesting 1/2 positions. MSTR ($525) MSTR is down over $100 from last week's highs, taking it all the way back to where it was......one week ago. In other words it has only given up a few days of its YTD rally (Dec 31st close: $388). It's next Buy Signal will be juicy, but first we must wait out the downside volatility. Our best trades come out of deep retracements. TSLA ($845) TSLA got the street's first four figure price projections, this one from Oppenheimer, $1,036 by 2025. Their previous target was $486. Other Street Johnny-come-latelies are finally jumping on the TSLA bandwagon, [read:Cybertruck] so expect the Oppenheimer target to be bested soon, probably using this earnings report as a catalyst. Our own TA price targets, based upon Fibonacci extensions from the March 2020 low, is shown on the chart below. The first two out of four price objectives have already been hit. Not withstanding TSLA earnings due out on the 27th, our pattern recognition system will generate an Intermediate Term Buy Signal upon a price break above $860. More on that, including favored options, as $860 comes into view. Note: ZM is trading at $375 this morning, Sell Signal still pending below $365.
