Not so fast, but as TSLA keeps surprising on the upside, I'm not ruling out anything. Updating the three call recommendations from Saturday's Weekend Update, with the shares up today about 6.5%*: *All price quotes as of 2:00 pm EDT Jun 17th 2022 $1,800C @ $35 ($3,500) - Currently $48: +30% Sep 16th 2022 $2,000C @ $35 ($3,500) - Currently $46: +38% Jan 20, 2023 $2,000C @ $55 ($5,500) - Currently $70: +25% The March 2022 $1,200C that was first mentioned on Oct 14th at $9.50 ($950) is trading today at $150 ($15,000), up about 1,500%. What To Do Now? As for reaching $2,000 by week's end, it's also possible that TSLA has seen its highs for the week. By taking some gains now, even if TSLA charges ahead for the rest of the week, you merely make a little less than you would have if you don't do anything. I know some of you are sitting on massive gains, even from just last week. Pulling a little out now, maybe rewarding yourself with say, a new car, would not be the end of the world...unless of course said vehicle has an internal combustion engine. This chart suggests another strategy: Establish a long term leveraged position with out-of-the-money LEAPS and then sit back and do nothing, letting Elon and Mr. Fibonacci (et moi) do all of the heavy lifting.
