The DJIA chart below is striking in its lack of clarity: By that I mean that there is little conviction to go either long or short, no recognizable price pattern for a substantial bet and certainly no breakdown below any meaningful support, 34,200 & 33,000 being the closest. Nonetheless, a breakdown below the channel coming up from Nov 2020, around 34,500, would certainly get my attention while bringing those two levels of support into view. TSLA Tesla has set July 26 after the close for its release of 2nd quarter earnings. I suspect that it won't be the earnings but Q&A with its CEO that will move the stock after hours and into the days following. More on this important date in future updates. Side Note: I am so immersed in TSLA right now that it is seeping into my personal life. The idea of trading my Model 3 in for a new Model Y until my Cybertruck comes (my reservation is in line at about 250,000 out of 1,000,000) is not being met with "shared household enthusiasm." I may have to settle for a new t-shirt. PLTR The arrow shows where we bought as our "2021 Stock of the Year," from which it ran up about 50%, and than fell back into what is looking like a six month and counting base. I should have known better than to select a recent IPO for such an enthusiastic long-term pick. TSLA had a two-year base before it started a 7 year run from $8 to $900. When the basing process is over PLTR will soar. For now we are looking for a series of higher highs and higher lows as the first sign that a new uptrend is underway. A break-out above $28 would be bullish, a break-down below $18 bearish. Until then, sideways.
