Volatility Straddle for Election The spate of new Sells yesterday has tempered my enthusiasm for an Election Day staddle. We are so overweighted to the Short side now, the prudent move is to only buy VXX puts, just in case the market takes off to the upside, if only for a few days. Since we are already Long the VXX Nov $38 calls via a system signal, I would only consider hedging that position with the Nov $38p ($3.80). But that isn't really a volatility play, its more of fear-of-losing play. Still, it's out there if you are so disposed.
