VXX - Long Pending VXX is the one model I would not hesitate to jump into before the trade window opens at 1:30 pm (EDT). In a market turning on the volatility moves can be fast and furious. If you do get in early, it is imperative that you get out if the signal is not confirmed later in the day. The current options, the Aug $12 puts, have already been stopped out this morning. The option play here is the Sep $12 call. Since VXX is near a round number, $12, I am using that as my own entry, i.e., if VXX can hit $12 and stay above it for more than a few minutes, I will be a buyer of those calls.
