Memorial Day weekend is upon us with three days of serious civil unrest brewing in Hong Kong. This HAS affected our markets in the past, before the coronavirus changed everything. BABA and BIDU are both down over 5% today (the equivalent of over 1000 Dow points). In addition, our own markets are in a precarious technical condition (see charts posted earlier this week) and we are one pandemic headline away from a negative reaction across global financial markets. None of this means Tuesday will open with a decline of any size, or a decline at all, nonetheless, these are some short positions that will protect against a worst case scenario: Tesla is the one exception to the bearish overtones above. We are still awaiting a "historical" announcement (words of CEO), promised at the 1st quarter earnings call. If nothing else, own some shares. Have a safe if not boring weekend, watching Netflix, et al. My pick: After Life.
