That's a whole lot of trading news rolled into one three-word headline, making this a key week for option traders. Bitcoin Our foray into Bitcoin calls has ended, at least temporarily. The BITO March $23C expired last Friday at +615%. The Jun $25C hit its 50% trailing stop for gain in the neighborhood of +200%, depending on entry. Any April calls were also stopped, gaining about +100%, again depending on entry. That was all in about 4-5 weeks of holding, pursuant to a very timely Buy Signal. Stand aside, await a new Buy, or a System Sell Signal. BTC Gold - Follow-up: Buy Signal March 1st GLD is at a key level, sitting right on its ATR Signal line, ready to either break support or bounce off of it toward new highs: As set out in the table below, GLD calls have fallen more than 50% from their peak percentage gains, thus triggering 50% trailing stops. Accordingly, if GLD bounces we may want to add new GLD calls. Stand-by. IWM This 2 hour chart of IWM is the most important chart in our arsenal right now. It looks to be in the beginning stages of a fresh downtrend. However, the news event of the week will be the FOMC meeting today and tomorrow and what the Fed has to say about interest rates. No doubt, it will move markets, likely all of them. The way to play IWM is to accumulate puts below 200.00 and adding SPY puts below SPY 500-505 as per last Weekend's Update. Interest Rates - US 10 Year Yield Another key chart in this key week for the markets, all subject to a Wednesday afternoon statement and FOMC press conference. Current Options - Premium Service GLD positions are both below their respective 50% trailing stops (from best percentage gains).
